Ok well im getting ready to try a 2204 build,I have a 1955 HH scott pt and ot that had two 6l6 s,my red+red=790v or 395/395 and green+green=6.6v and their is 3 whiteish looking wires one im sure is a ground the other two together read 5.1v ? My question is what do i need to do to bring the voltage down to the 325 range,a resister value change.
any help or advice would be great Thanks Tracy

Hello btw. (or something similar)! But with so many volts it's understandable, that you forgot to mention...

Removing some windings from the HT secondary or another PT - anything else is a crutch and should be avoided.

interesting most likely true. Im just trying to make a amp from what I have stockpiled . My grandfather witch was a tv repaire man back when people use to fix their stuff he passed away and I got all his electrical treasures one tube contraption from 1/16/43 looks like something from an old tv huge tubes bigger then 6550s anyway I got lots of stuff to play with. I've built a 18watt tmb from a layout.I have not found anything I would not try to fix or make, But still learning everyday.

Wow I cant believe that im the only person in the world that wants to build with somthing that did not come from a kit.btw I made my turret board today out of an old clip board and some 5/32 1/2 inch pop rivets.

Are the pop rivets aluminum?

If they are solder won't adhere to them.

I build with "other iron" frequently----the Mule M50 head in the amp clips (see my signature) has a Dagnall OT from a 1987xl that i got off the 'bay when somebody "upgraded"---the cast-off OT works pretty well.
I just ordered some Edcor PT's for 50 watt builds: http://www.edcorusa.com/Products/ShowPr ... spx?ID=677 --- i haven't used this PT before but i've used other Edcor iron-----i'll post when i build with one of these----- i'll be using some CE Dist 50 watter OT's i just got or i have some Merc Mag OT's on hand----thinking of a more modern sounding build........................gldtp99

PS-- It's true---- aluminum and solder aren't a great combination
