Hi Blooze

Get the Marstran 118 PT for a JTM 50. Best choice out there IMO aside from perhaps a ******.

It has a 5V tap for a tube (GZ34/5AR4) rectifier, so you will be able to do a JTM 50 with either tube or solid state rectifiers (they made both).

I would use the 420v taps for the JTM 50.

The 370v taps are more useful for people who want to make the 1970s sounds.

However the nice thing is, you can try both options as you desire.

The Marstran 118 is a great choice at a great price.

The Metro 118 is a nice PT but has no 5V tap. Mine delivers ~420VDC, and is for sale.

thank you for the answer :D
I build right now a jtm50 with the marstran 118 , I will order for my jmp50 project the marstran or ****** 139 soon .if there is no sound difference between the 1202 164 with 370v or the 118 with the low tap 370v,I will order the 118 one more time

I love my jcm800 2204 which has plate voltage 475 volt so I think I like high voltage rock n roll.

I really like the soundclips on the germino site (I think they use the ****** transformers)
