Radiospares "de luxe" OT in an 18watter

Any thoughts how would sound a heavily oversized transformer like the de luxe hooked at 6.6k into a standard 18w TMB circuit?

Not very convincingly. Probably flat and brittle.

But w/ 6V6's on the 8K taps or EL84's on the 9K taps it might sound nice.

Why should it sound flat and brittle at 6.6K? Shouldn't the lower primary impendance affect only the clean headroom and volume?
