Optimal choke for 45/100 with 32(+32uF) and 33uF

Dear forum members,

i know this has been discussed already, but i hope to get many opinions here, especially for this specific amp. I'd like to know which choke sounds best to your ears (not too stiff and warm, but not too flabby) in a 45/100. Transformers will be Marstran 1202-83, 1204-43, filtering on the preamp will be either 32uF or 32+32Uf (nos Erie) (haven't considered 16uF, but might if you guys recommend it) 33uF in all of the other stages (Rifa). The amp is heading towards Dickinson amp spec (but might also lean more towards the original spec).

The candidates i have in mind right now are:
Marstran 3h
Marstran 20h
Metro 114 (5h?)

Please let me know if you've compared some of these or others in the same amp and what the conclusions were.
Roe, i know you swapped the chokes in your 45/100 quite a lot - which one ended up staying in there?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Kind regards,

VintageCharlie

But you did also try the Metro 114 5H before you decided to settle with Brians 3H? What was the filtering on your 45/100? (i somehow can't find the thread (do you have a link or maybe please tell me the section it went into?)

I used the stock filtering. the 5h sounded too clean for me. it ended up in the el34 amp

Ok, thanks! - good to know. Stock filtering would mean 16uF on the preamp and 32uF on the rest?

From your experience - would you presume that the 3H will be a good choice also for an amp with either 32uF or 32+32uF on the preamp and 33uF on the rest?

I started with dual 32uf in the preamp and the 3h. after breakin I changed the preamp to 16uf (everything still stock). it did not make much difference. then, I tried the 5h and didn't like it. I recommend the 3h
