PT - Marshall Super Tremelo '71 - help identify

Post by mdc1 » Sun Jun 02, 2013 3:04 pm

Just pulled this PT out of my Marshall 110w Super Tremelo, year 7-1-1971. Can someone help identify the transformer type and the suitable replacements please?

Presume this is a follow up to the thread in the repairs and restoration thread :?

That PT is a Dagnall PT and will correspond to a T2562 type that can be supplied by our hosthttp://forum.metroamp.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=41208 or by Brian Wallace http://www.marstran.com/T2562.htm
Both can be supplied in stand up style so that you can reuse your end bells. If you use these you can have the original wire colouring scheme too. Lace the loom in the right layout and it will look totally stock.

Edited for spelling!

+1 to what Neikeel said. Both excellent replacements.

I'm curious, if you took off an end bell, does the cut out on the laminations for 2 big screws have a smooth U shape or more sharp right angle notches?

Here's a pic of each type of transformer to show what I'm talking about:
