50w OT in a 20W Marshall DSL?

Post by sweartome2 » Thu Jun 04, 2020 8:49 am

Hello,

I have a Marshall DSL20cr amp, which has an output of 20w with 2 EL34 power tubes AB class push-pull cathode biased.
I want to upgrade it wth a choke and better output transformer.
Since the schematic is not available to me, I need some help.

There are no direct replacements for this particular amp and the OTs I can find that are suggested to be used with 2 el34s are 50w and above.
Should I choose one with the regular 3.2 - 3.6k primmary impedance?
Something like this: http://www.classictone.net/40-18025.html ?

Thanks in advance
