Hallardson choke size?

Post by Andy » Mon Sep 25, 2006 11:44 am

I found an HVPR-2 in some stuff my dad had, says 8H 120ma 350 ohms but the thing is easily 2x as big as what I usually see for similar specs. Any idea why this one would be so large?

Because it's probably older than the hills and the old shit is always bigger. Transformers, caps, you name it. Halldorson made high quality stuff. I have about ten different NOS Halldorson power transformers that were probably made in the sixties and their build quality is unbelievable. They're monstrous and run cool. They all have that copper band/shield around the laminations. Even the copper is like 16 guage! Good stuff! Use it!
