Just to let you know that Gibson has just bought the local company Garrison Guitars based in my town of St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.

I wish Chris Griffiths, owner of the Garrison Guitar company (someone I've known since he opened a small repair shop in St.John's and worked on one of my guitars in the mid 90's) all the best on this, as he is a person of great integrity - his imagination and entreprenurial spirit are truly rare in today's jaded music marketplace.
I know Chris from years ago and he must be humbled and very excited in having his efforts realized to this extent. Knowing that Gibson will be making acoustic guitars in my backyard here, in the oldest city in North America - St. John's!! - is absolutely mindblowing.
I wish Chris and Gibson all the best.
