I need an accurate Strat to make Jimi sound clips. I played an American Standard at GC yesterday, it played well. But wasn't really magic IMO.
I have been recommended to check out the Nash stuff. Just curious if anyone has tried them and what your experience is?

George- thats a great idea to capture that type of sound/vibe with one of your amps and a classic sounding Strat, but IMO you don't and maybe won't do it with a Nash.
Yes they are built great and look good but its still about the pups and the neck. I understand he makes Strats that has that magic which comes from playing good ones and building good ones.
Underwounds preferably '66 -'69's, a good neck thats tight in the pocket, and a nitro or good poly body with a vintage spec trem bridge will get it done.
I find I can feel the vibration in the neck in my index finger fretting with a good neck.
I'll be getting and doing some A/B ing with some Fender 66-69 pups in a few weeks. If they are what I'm expecting, I'll let you compare them in a put together against a Nash or whatever.
I agree with MacGaden you don't need a relic'ed/nash strat to get it done.
