That's odd. The orange Pyramids are my absolutely favourite strings, although SOB isn't far behind (and I doubt I'd be able to tell them much apart, to be honest). Never had a problem like that with my low E, but I do think they need a few days to settle in and really sound their best.

where in Europe can I by the orange and green sets? how do they compare?

I got mine from Toneman as well. Some years back I used the blue on white Pyramid sets (Maximum Performance?) before I tried SOB because supply was dwindling around here, and now finally I got the orange Pyramids. Either of these were quite excellent, but I think only the orange Pyramids and SOBs are wound on a round core. All pure nickel though.

One drawback with the orange Pyramids is that the 11 sets have a wound 3rd string...
