Some additional info here. The clips are recorded quite clean so you can hear the character of the guitars. Due to the low volume recording, the overdrive sound is crappy, but I couldn't crank the amp here at home. The SG has an awesome 'growl' in the deep mids - I couldn't capture that...

I think you can hear the ash-maple combination of the Strat pretty well. I'd prefer an alder body here - but obviously I won't change the body on this guitar.

Tell me what you think of the clip quality.

The stompbox I use is a Baldringer Dual Drive - highly recommended f.e. by Udo in the 'Gitarre+Bass' mag over here. Check it out:
