Soundtest : refret job of a '68 ES 340 TDN

Post by JimiJames » Thu May 29, 2008 1:56 am

I'm pretty happy with this fret job. Used vintage correct frets.
Although, I did have a chance to go with different frets, I didn't go with medium/jumbo or Jumbo because I wanted it to play as if it did back in the day....right off the hook.
Yep, excluding the frets, it's a 100% except for the saddles which I replaced back in '82.
I lost one of the originals so I just replaced the set.. (I still have the five.)

Been anxious to check out the refret job so after a hard days work decided & plug'er in for a bluesy test drive...
Mainly wanted to hear this guitar through the Metro. Sounds great in person but you get the idea with the vid.(Recorded with a FlipVideo 'camcorder)

Good stuff, Jimi.
