RS guitarworks 500k CTS audio pots; most about 465 k !!!

PEC make a guitar pots and are military specs.

the CTS pots RS guitarworks sells are said to be +/- 10 % , but the ones i received were all about 465 k !
i didn't buy the kits as i know how to solder, have tons of good caps and even if their kits are mechanicaly better than what i could do (knowing i just replace the pots on my gibson guitars and sometimes the caps, so i have the stock gibson wiring , standard USA, custom shop... so , what's the problem ?) i don't really see the benefit; i usualy don't smash my wiring kit with a hammer and it's in the cavity .
also as far as i know the kits they sell are having their special pot taper, not the standard CTS audio taper as i look for.

But that is 10% granted its shady that they all came on the low end

i'm surprised as i emailed RS guitarworks to ask them if i would get rejects from their kits (meaning the ones with low values ) and he said no.
when i told him 17 of 20x 500k cts audio taper pots i bought were about 465 (3 were about 475k), he said on the last batch he received (several hunders or more, i can't recall), he said two or three were really 500k !! was it true ?
yes, very surprising they are all -10% and nearly none in between -10% +10 % !
