You may all think I'm a nut case, but I find on my strats that evan once the pups are set to spec height with a ruler, that making little half turn tweaks to the other pickups can effect the tone of the bridge pickup.Due to the strat magnetic pull thing.
Might give it a try.

I set mine to 5/64 bass side 4/64 treble side. Then plug in and do my neighbor annoying "play a lick turn a screw" routine. Its subtle but there is a differance.

Does this setup give you the maximum fatness in tone? Or where you going for a more strat thin sound

I dunno about maximum fatness. But I'm not going for a stock thin tone.I just mess around till I hear what I want.............or here that what I want aint there.
I like it as fat as I can get it without getting wool, having the neck pup too high IMO adds a little woolyness.

I am very suprised with the YJM &HS-3 pick up,low out put but really sounds great when overdriven, l never thought it would be that good, heard alot in the past that people complained about them being too weak and not enough balls.

Magnet Alnico 5
Output 93mV
DC Resistance 23.72K <---- is this the key to it all!

So guys, closer to the strings more output and more bass or more treble response? Yeah i could try it when i get hom ebut i am sitting at work.. Also, if people complain about the HS-3 being too bright, why not try it without a tone cap..?
