lollar pickups

Post by Fever Dog » Tue Oct 07, 2008 8:17 pm

i just bought a bunch of lollar pickups
1. full set of imperial humbuckers unpotted.
2. 1 low wind neck humbucker unpotted.
3. a full set of blackface single coils.
4. i even picked up a set of pickups for our bass player.

i couldn't be any happier with the tone of all of these pickups. i strongly endorse them to anyone considering.

Fever Dog on the Lollar blackface pickups do they keep a strat type tone going on? thats my only thing with Fralin vintage hot pickups is they have good tone but it changes the sound to much for me and lose some of the Strat bell like tone.

I LOVE the Lollers in my Nash. And I got to meet those guys at the amp show. Very cool.

Jason said my Strat has Dirty Blondes in the neck and bridge and a special in the bridge.

bluze,
without sounding like an idiot, if i had to describe the tone of the blackface pickups, "very stratty". I really dont know any other way to put it. They sound exactly like the sound of a great strat pickup. If you give me a couple of days i can put some clips up.

They are really great to deal with. I even got jason on the phone twice. I am assuming he is absurdly busy. He took the time to ask me what kind of amp i play, what type of music i play, and what type of tones i was looking for. After about 15 minutes he suggested the blackface pickups. He's a really cool, down to earth guy.

Fever Dog in no way do you sound like an idot, and thats a good description of the Lollar pickups, I Have tried so many pickups thru the years some great some not, I dont mind a hotter than stock pickup that some of the aftermarkets do but when you start losing that Strat tone its a no go for me, and to read results from a player on this it saves a guy time and money, I also play Jtm 45 amps Metro builds, so thank you, bluze

Same experience with Jason. Super fast email response, very helpful. His Special pickup sounds great in the bridge of my Tele. WIll replace the Van Zandts in my Strat with Lollar Specials when I can afford to!
