the title is not exactly what i would have said in French but lacking some better translation ...
i was on the Fender forum website and read the topic
" welcome to the Fender lounge Forums ".
here's what you can read there :
" One important point: this is an enthusiast forum – it is NOT a customer service forum nor will any customer service issues be addressed by Fender here. If you have a Fender product in need of repair or service please make use of our standard Consumer Relations channels and do not post here – your post will not receive a response from Fender. On a related note, if you ask specific questions about nuances of Fender products, the fact is that you’re very likely not going to receive a response directly from Fender here either. "
so, what's the use of that Forum !! LOL
and they ask you to make part of their administrator job on top of that !! LOL
by the way, do you know the Fender University ?
http://www.fender.com/university/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
just read what 's included :
http://www.fender.com/university/reg.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
don't get me wrong, i love Fender guitar and amps !
maybe more the vintage ones (especialy the amps) than the actual ones but until now (even if i had no Fender custom shop guitar yet) , i still believe some of their actual instruments are really good/ great guitars but isn't all that a bit cheesy !
i mean it's really marketing and another way to earn money !
but in a world where buisness is tough, it can be a way to help the company and keep its buisness going on, not just with money as i don't know if it's really much money for them but also with transparency on their work.
at first when i read two or three lines about FU i thought it was something organized for a few weeks or months , as you can go in a music school, but it turns to be more of a tourist thing (like i'm going down to Tijuana ! Tequila , Sexo , Ma... LOL) :
Attendance for five days and five nights at Fender University.
Hotel accommodations: Full service hotel—the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa, Riverside, Calif.
All meals during your stay.
Your very own exclusive, limited edition Fender American Standard Series instrument.
All ground transportation while at Fender University. Airfare not included.
Behind-the-scenes tour of the state-of-the-art Fender manufacturing facility and famed Fender Custom Shop.
Personal tour of the Fender Center Museum and Fullerton Museum featuring the Leo Fender exhibit.
8+ workshop hours, jamming and one-on-one instruction from Fender staff, clinicians and artists.
Priceless meet-and-greet moments with some of Fender’s closest friends and legends.
All the school supplies you need—lots of cool stuff!
VIP pass to all festivities and the Fender University commencement party.
The musician’s experience of a lifetime!
they could propose the choice between vintage reissue or american standard (but custom shop would even be better ! LOL) for those who don't like the american standard model.
but all in all, if you have some money, love Fender Guitars and want to spend a week as a tourist having fun with a friend or two (or your wife or girlfriend ! ) in the Fender music world , you might have some good time and seeing the custom shop and factories can be interesting as well as meeting a few people there, at least to understand why they do this or that a certain way .
it's certainly more interesting (on the money aspect) for people living in USA, especialy those on the West coast as from Europe the ticket might be expensive.
and by the way, it's not free ! LOL
welcome to Fenderland !
