New Floyd Setup for strat
So I picked up a new custom strat while I was out at Namm visiting Friedman (the Petron is still oozing through my skin) and some friends. It has a Floyd so I perchased a clamp from stew mac for the intonation saddles. Does anyone have this clamp and have a little more info on setting up the system. There are also #'s on the clamp, 1-6 assuming they are for the string but when using them as a guide it seems wrong. Anyone got a link or perhaps a tutorial for setting this lil bugger up? Thanks... Wade

Is this what your talking about?

If so forget the numbers on it ... basically it just makes it easy to move the saddles back and forth to intonate. Without the key you have to loosen the string, slide the saddle by hand, then retune, check and repeat the procedure over and over until it is intonated correctly. WIth the key you don't have to loosen the string you can move the saddle by turning the screw. You do have to loosen the allen bolt holding the saddle in place though.

YEp..Thats the tool- Man...Its a bitch really!!! The saddles are all in line,lol...there is no way its in tune. Damn, what a drag. The knob has a smooth finish also so turning it with tension on the line is nearly impossible also. It needs some grooves/planetjimi wrote:Is this what your talking about?
