DR Pure Blues Strings vs Curt Mangan Fusion Matched Strings

Post by SandovalPDV » Wed May 27, 2009 8:34 pm

I just tried a set of these on a Gibson R7 I just picked up (awesome guitar by the way). I wasn't impressed at all they made the guitar very buzzy both open and fretted notes, and it was coming through while the guitar was plugged into my Marshall. I tried adjusting the bridge and the truss rod but no luck getting rid of the buzz. So i put on a set of Curt Mangan strings and what a difference. The buzzing was gone and was able to set it up to play perfect, low action no buzz. Every guitar I have put these string on sounds great, very balanced tone. They also settle quickly they don't require a lot of stretching before they hold their tune. I also like GHS Progressives they are like the Curt Mangan's but just a little brighter. The Fender 150R and 250R's are also good strings I like to use then on my strat. Just thought I would share :)
