Balsa as a Tonewood?

Post by chrisom » Sun Jun 30, 2013 1:19 pm

I was thinking of having a custom Les Paul made out of balsa wood because I think it has a "unique" tone, but mostly because it's easier on the spine. Do you think it will catch on? I'm hoping that Gibson will make it my signature model and everybody will get one and sing it's praises or at least wish they could some day acquire one. If it gets dropped in the water it will float. It will also have a very nice paint job, so it'll look incredible. Any suckers? :D  :palm:
