I wanted to ask if anyone else here has tried a GOTOH 1996T floyd trem system?
I had used floyds since 1984(my stock Kramer baretta had one) and always loved them the most,
HOWEVER i recently bought a Gotoh 1996T and IMHO it is overall a better trem.
It has smoother travel, the fine tuners are like velvet and the tone is outstanding.
Mine does have the big block upgrade but so did my floyds.
anyone else try or use the Gotoh or what i now call it the GO TO trem!
sorry for the crappy pics, here it is in my charvel san dimas

Re: Floyd users question
Far superior than the floyds.
The stud bushings are a different size than floyds though. I think they are a little bigger.

I used the orignal floyd bushings and have had no issues at all.vanhalen5150 wrote:Far superior than the floyds.

You are probably right but i bought just the trem/lock nut used so i am not sure about the bushings.
The original floyd bushings are fine though.

Re: Floyd users question
They are. I got a Floyd routed body from KNE last year. The holes were too small. Had to plug and redrill them. I could have used Floyd studs but I like the ones that came with the trem.
