So Waylon and Jimi were lost brothers, it must be the hat that gives it away. Waylon was a patient at my hospital a few months before he died, he didn't die there, but he was way sick, sad to see him like that.
One of the nurses was joking around with him about selling his foley (urinary) catheter on Ebay!!

It wasn't me Mike, he wasn't my patient, it was a nurse who was a friend of mine and no there was no auction, although when the urine crystallized, the outline of the Virgin Mary could clearly be seen  .

I actually thought of buying one of those and putting a Duncan invader in the bridge. (leave the pick guard off. Maybe put some good tuners on it. Set it up for 12's)

I have to say, the white one I got feels and plays great. The only drawback are the pickups but when I replace the stock ones with Callaham H/SRV's it should be killer for <$650

Oh, you wouldnt BELIEVE how closely they resemble each other if you look at 'em in a certain way, Yng. (Granted, you must REALLY have to have yer head at an... "unconventional" angle)

I for one have not been able to achieve this level of vision adjustment that must necessary to be able to actually witness this now legendary similarity between Waylon and Jimi. I HAVE tried, but the folks at Manny's continually ask me if everything is alright, do I need a chiropractor, etc. as I twist my head into Origami / Picasso-like orientations trying to achieve this apparent mastery of facial association.
Alas... it continues to elude me.
But Chief is real good man, and a dyed to the bone homeboy... if he says it, I believe it.

(I once stared at the bridge on the Starship Enterprise... could SWEAR I saw a Chief there instead of a Captain... maybe Im finally starting to break thru to becoming a visionary myself)

I bought one in black and installed a white pearl pickguard, white knobs, and white pickup covers. I didn't like the parchment color parts. I had to order the pickguard from Warmoth to keep the reverse angle on the bridge pickup.

I like it so much that I bought a Suhr BPSS to quiet down the 60Hz hum (it works great!). The pickups thankfully do not have a reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup which is a requirement for the BPSS. They are also left handed pickups for the Hendrix vibe. At least they are all marked LH with a grease pen.

I actually like the stock pickups in this thing, but I think I'm going to order the Callaham H/SRV set (without a RWRP middle pickup) this week.

It's going to end up more expensive than my American Deluxe, but I love this guitar.

That guitar showed up twice as the stupid deal of the day, but it was only the Olympic white version. Mine was marked down $200 when I bought it, but it wasn't the SDOD. I check that site regularly. Most of the time it's something small, but every once in a while there's something great.

There was a '60's slim taper neck Les Paul Standard on there one morning that was calling my name, but it was sold out by the afternoon.

I was playing mine last night, and I still love it. Callaham H/SRV pickups help too!

My neck pickup just went "non-operational". What a great excuse to try out some Callahms...

So, you used a left handed set????

No. The stock pickups were left hand, but I put in a right handed set of Callahams (with a non-RWRP middle pickup because I use a BPSSC).
