Hi!

I'll check out Stans pickup test.

I'd like to buy the SD 78, but they have to be bought through a dealer in Norway. I checked with a dealer and it was ridiculous money. Something like 500 dollars  .

I might buy the darkburst for my other strat (the one with the evolutions).

I got the pup yesterday. Fast shipping and great service :D

First impressions are good. I have only tried it on my practiceamp and in Amplitube (yea I know, it stinks  ) Compared to the JB it seems more smooth and balanced. Cant wait to try it out on a real amplifier. I'm gonna do some recordings this evening. I'll report back when I've tested it some more.

Off topic. I found out that my guitar is roted for mulitple pup configurations. It's just one big hole under the pickguard. The guitar is a US Lonestar Strat. I wonder how this affects sound.

Fender does that so they don't have to do different routs for each model. I knew they did HSS on lot's of guitars that don't have a humbucker in the bridge, are they doing that universal rout now?
the left or the right?

my strat has a humbucker rout at the bridge but is all single coils. at some point i hope to change the pickups, and add a humbucker in the bridge, otherwise i feel like it's wasted space!

My strat is from 98. Never opend it up before. So this was news for me. It seems a bit cheap though  .

I've changed to a humbukcker in bridge on my other strat. It only had routing for single coils so i had to use a chisel. I mostly play hardrock so a singlecoil in bridge didnt work for me.

I tested the pickup yesterday. It was on a Hughes & Kettner Dualtone combo.

I really like the way this pup sounds. Tone spectrum i foucused in a way that makes it a joy to play. It has less high end focus than the pearly gates wich I had before. It seems to suit the Strat very well. Crunch and lead sounded great.

I havent tried it on the 12.000 yet so I cant wouch for the VH sound.
