The best advice is to compare. I owned R9's and R0's and belive or not, I have a 2001 LP Classic Premium Plus that SMOKES them all. It's non chambered, light, resonant, a beautiful top, cost half the price, and has tone to die for! I have to admit though, I went through a lot of guitars before I found this one. You just have to keep searching until you find that special one. :D

I have an R9 and it's lovely, but I got a silly deal on it, paid almost as much as one would pay for a non-historic. As nice as it is, I couldnt imagine paying the crazy money these things retail for new.

I'm looking for the right LP for me someday.......the right R8 and 63RI ES335
I don't like the buzzsaw or acidwash flame tops.
......saving for my 1st build, may save me.
Go and have a bite........

I have 1 92 Standard Cherry sunburst.....I chose it over the 1960 model they were selling at the time for a little more money.....The guitar was right for me...I love the stock pickups......This guitar kills.......Would love to try some with the long tennon though.......

I have a 2006 Historic '57 Gold Top and it is quite possibly the best sounding of all the Les Pauls I have ever owned. She rings like a bell and I just love her big fat chunky neck. I bought my very first one in 1972 and I've owned quite a few over the years. The only other one I kept is a 1988 Black 2 PU Custom. This one is dark, mysterious and haunting. Still, I must admit that I've been gasing over a P-90 equipped model for some time...
