Anybody played this guitar?I played one last month at GC through the new JVM amp, kind of liked it,one of the tone knobs was fitted too high, stupid stuff like that, but for the money,it dosent seem to be bad and the angled bridge p/u is cool.
It wasn't bad and played quite well for the price!

I played one for a while. Like you said, decent guitar for the money. I almost bought it but showed some credit card restraint for a change.

Do you have a link for these? I allways wanted one when Fender made the "Voodoo Strat" in the

A Strat is a Strat is a Strat.
I have a Butterscotch blonde Ash Deluxe and would be just as happy with one of these.
If asnyone spends more than a grand on a Strat they are nuts!

I almost bought a Voodoo Strat back then, but just couldn't warm up to it. Bought a ratted out '65 instead. It was ten times the guitar than the voodoo, and at that time cheaper
I really like the way these MIM strats look though.

Yeah,it comes with the single ply pickguard although in some pictures the white/black/white guard is pictured, which is period correct,I prefer the look with it in vintage white, why might that be then....any clues

!
Hope there are some left when I can afford one!

Got one, Dave. I love it. The "E's" were slipping off the fretboard when I first got it. I was gonna return it when I realized the neck bolts were loose. I re-akigned the neck, tightened it down and it's been fine since. The stock pick ups sound really good, too. Real Stratty tone. Great axe for the money.

The reverse tilt on the bridge pickup is what makes a noticeable difference I like. I don't care for the reverse head stock as it make the strings feel stiffer because they are shorter on the high E side.

huh, interesting. the string tree might work better like this though.

Good for you Chief, glad you got one,I was pretty impressed with it,I liked it better than the EJ and EC Strats!
Going to GC on Friday the 15th to check out the Frankenstrat and EVH amp,so full report on those soon.
These reverse headstock MIM's are wicked cool

Now that's a questionable statement... Maybe in your opinion its true, and i would agree that both gibsons and fenders are
way overpriced for what they are (mostly japanese collectors' fault), but if you're willing to part with an early 60's strat in exchange for a $350 import fender, or say that their respective quality as musical intruments is comparable, be my guest.

I played one at G.C. It is a damn good strat. I didnt think to look, but is it a round lam maple fretboard like the 90's Japanese '68 reissue? The neck decal definately is pre '69, as it doesnt have the "stratocaster" part.

Liked it huh Billy! Yes I was amazed by it's overall feel, much better than many American/Mexican assembled guitars,it must be the food that they have there, that inspires them and they have great pride in their work in Mexico for Fender.
I am hoping that my connections at GC,which run deep, whatever i might say about them, will be able to salvage me one oneday, but black or white, this is the question?I have white and black Strats,so who knows.
I couldn't stop playing the damn thing whereas the EVH Art Series,it was like,2 secs and i was done, same with the EJ Strat,me no likee, also EC Custom Shop production Blackie, eech.
So Obviously if a guitar is set up decently,a major feature of 'my' Guitar Center,it makes all the world of difference.
Gotta love the reversed bridge pickup, the coolness factor of the SS Washburn,I don't think it is a round laminated fretboard, for that price.
In fact the Jimmy Vaugh Tex-Mex Strat, probably blows these thin skin authentic '57's out of the water, for much les pesos!
I pleaded my case already for these cheap US Washburns,if somebody here actually played one other than me,you would be amazed.I would put it's quarter sawn hard rock maple neck up against even....the Frankenstein, shock horror!!!
Yes I am a family man, these are my two children,my Maltese dogs,K.C. the boy 6yrs old and Candy, daddy's lil' girl 5 yrs old, they make us very happy and we love them:
