Callaham vintage style block for strat

Post by bluze81 » Thu Jul 05, 2007 9:49 pm

Just got my bridge block and stainless steel trem arm from Callaham today, installed in my 1987 usa stand, strat, big difference in note definition, punchy mids,a big improvment in overall sound ,it even plays better, the trem arm is great also,a bit shorter than the stock arm, more like a real pre cbs feel and the quality of the parts are exellent, great company, ordered parts on Monday the 2nd parts came today the 5th. $86.00 bones with shipping

So its well worth it I take it? How does the bar feel, as far a touch sensitivity is concerned?

No prob for the site address, just glad you decided to be the guinea pig.

I guess I will try to scrape up some dolla's after summer to purchase one, since in sounds like what I am looking for. Not to mention that playin 12's in standard has broken 2 bars so far and bent the third like a wet noodle, so the tougher bar would be very much welcomed.

I installed a Callaham block on a (zinc block) Japanese Strat once and it made a great difference. Did the same on a (steel block) '62 reissue USA strat and didn't notice any change.

I have a Callaham in my superstrat and it's great. Stays in tune much better than others I've tried.
Gear:
'74 Super Lead rebuilt with '68 metro board and old stock mustards.
'73 Super Lead
'68 Basketweave with pre rola G12Ms
