Guitar importing problems...

Anybody else have problems getting guitars sent to them from other countries? I bought a guitar on Ebay from a guy in Calgary, Alberta Canada three weeks ago, and have been tracking it thru UPS's website, and talked to UPS's rep on the phone. The guitar is being held by the FDA in Customs, in Minneapolis, MN, and has no expected release date. I mean, I guess the FDA MIGHT have an interest in it cause its made out of wood (???), or maybe they think there could be drugs in the box, but this is getting frustrating. Everyone I speak to says their hands are tied, and meawhile my axe is sitting in some warehouse collecting dust. Anyone else experience anything similar to this?? Its starting to piss me off. Started as: :D ---Went to: :? ---Now Im: :x

How long has it been in customs? Isn't a 30 day wait usually par for the course?

I bought a set of speakers from JF (5150loveeddie) and it took FOR-EVAH! It was a simple Canada to US shipment... and it was close to 6 weeks from the day he shipped them. Tracking was useless. Be patient... Customs suck!

Hey, thanks for all the replies!! I did not know it could take that long for something to get here from out of the country. It sucks waiting, but its at least reassuring to know that it sounds like the wait is not all that uncommon. Its been nearly 3 weeks since I bought it, but Im used to stuff getting shipped around THIS country, where it usually takes no more than a week (as long as UPS doesnt bust the piece-- ). Still, I would love to know why they hold it for that long. :? :?
