My Custom LP Clone Build

Post by DivebombInc » Wed Dec 05, 2007 8:14 am

I started this a few months ago and I've been taking it really slow. I'm working on the fretboard now and I'll install it on the neck and then set the neck. I've been using Grain Filler on the body to get is really smooth and then I'll do a Cherry Sunburst on it.

Getting there! I'll do an initial setup and test6 drive tomorrow and then dismantle it for finishing.

AAAHHH, I see an Explorer or a Kramer neck lurking in the
shadows. Is that the next project? :D

For the first time I bought a template for a project. I have a customer that wants a Korina Explorer; he bought and sent me the Korina and I'll be starting on it soon. Got to get a few other things out of the way first.

damn nice work as always. i stained my 70's standard walnut back then & the maple top only took a little of the stain, looked pretty similar to yours, slightly darker/browner. i had no idea what i was doing. that is gorgeous!

The customers initials are JJ and if you look at the 12th marker it has 2 J's which are actually the Rosewood from the fretboard.

It plays real nice. I put 2 custom wound PAF-ish pups in there.
