335 electronics install tutorial

Here's a neat video I found at mojotone for replacing the guts in a 335 type guitar. They leave some stuff out I'd say, but it gives you some ideas. Scary watching him use that step bit, but then I've used a rat tail file more than once.

Good video. Only thing I would add is to tape around the f-holes for the removal/install of the controls to protect the paint on the f-hole edges from scratches and chips.

I just insalled that kit in an Epi Sheraton. The full size pots do NOT fir through the f holes and you have to enlarge the opening through the bridge pickup cutout to get them to fit. The other thing that they do not mention is to tie the string around the pots before you pull the old ones out. Then you can use the strings to pull the new ones in.

Their prewired assy works great. To me definitely worth the $$.

I always do a pre test thing before the finish parts go on, [knobs pick guard] just to be shure all is working correctly, he didnt mention testing it at all? other than that a good job.
