Yes, I do. They are awesome, awesome pickups. I believe a few others on here have them aswell.

Check out my clips, they are all skatterbranes. The soundclick ones are best.

I tried a set with A2 magnets. Typical PAF output. These actually sounded good. They were more relaxed and open sounding than some of the other boutique pickups I have tried. Good guy to deal with. There are some nice clips on You Tube of the Skatterbranes.

Edit: MarT posted before I finished . His clips are the nice ones I was refering to.

Absolutely love my Skatterbranes.. tried the BB, Fralins, & WCR DB... I found my tone w/Skatterbranes....Rod is a great guy to deal with.... The neck PUP is one of the best I have ever heard... the clip below was made with my 50w using the bridge PUP (Skatterbrane)... They really shine when played with the volume on about 4 or 5... big, fat tone.... 8) 8) This clip was at about 9.5...

Thanks guys for the quick response :D

Udo turned my attention to this PU's and told me, that a set already is on the way to him. The clips sound promising, so I'll still wait for Udo's comments after trying it and then will give 'em also a try in my Historic.

Larry,

is "Udo" Udo Pipper? I would love to hear his comments since he has probably tried more PAF type pickups than any of us.

Kind regards
Stephan

Yes Udo contacted me about these pickups and Rod is extremely flattered that he is interested them. As you would be since Udo is a great player and has a good ear for awesome tone.

I really hopes he enjoys them!

Yes, Udo Pipper.

We've had a long phone call yesterday, where he told me his positive experience with the Amber PU's (a new German PU winder) and said, that he now is very curious to the Skatterbrane's and how they compare to the Amber's, what's obviously his favourite PAF remake at the moment.

He intends to make some video clips with the Skatterbrane's and also one or two clips with my British Purist, which he anyway will get for a review in the magazine Gitarre & Bass in April/May.

I heard from Rod (skatterbranes) that Udo received the PUPS and from what I hear he it sounds like he is quite pleased. I am sure he will let us know what he thinks in due course.

...Come to think of it I am not sure I should really say anything?

I have a set with A4 magnets in one of my guitars for a weak or two now, and I'm really pleased. They have a deep barking sound which is very clear and exposed, but never harsh or brittle. They really do sound much different than my PAF-set and my beloved WCR BetSet. The focus seems to be on the lower mid response with a typical PAF texture. They just bark and that was excactly what I was looking for. Seems they are a very useful option for any style if someone is looking for a warm barking sound with extended string separation. The frontpickup is amazing. Think woman tone all the way.
I'm going to record some soundfiles and let you hear it :D

Mike
