Help redoing electronics

Well, my (epi) les paul's electronics have finally bit the dust, after having to replace the pickup switch about a year back, I knew it would only be time
. Now the pots are failings, and I'm getting a lot of sizzle from them when I adjust them (as well as unexpected volume loss and clarity).
1. SOOO, I'm upgrading the electronics, but I hear there are issues with fitting aftermarket pots into Epiphone Les Pauls...now, guys, correct me if I'm wrong here, but I should be aiming to fit 4 CTS 500k pots with 2 .02
