Fender Custom Shop '50's Top Bound Esquire? ... they ought to shorten that title, lol!

I bought one about a month ago and it's the bee's knees. If you're into Teles and you find one locally... try it out.

The pickup is a Duncan design that Billy Gibbons had some input on. It's a stacked humbucker, looks like a regular ol' Tele pickup but it's got great tone and really drives an amp; it's got some crazy output... 25ohms?!! This guitar and a Marhall are a killer combo.

The guitar I got is lightweight, 6lbs even. The neck is real nice recreation of a '57 "V" neck. It's on the "smaller" side, like the real '57's were... compared to the larger neck '56 boat necks.

Here's a big pic:

Nice! Esquire is good for me, because a Tele is just wasting a pickup.

Bet it's hard to get that country blues plunk-plunk thru yur marshall.

I hope it's not that deadly black mold that makes all my gear smell good.

Actually it plays both kinds of music... Country and Western just fine thru a Marshall. Just have to turn down the volume knob a little. :D Despite the output of the pickup, it's not dark sounding and there's some sparkle there... it's not like a straight early '60's staggered pole pickup, but it'll twang.

Yeah, I'm with you on the wasted pickup thing... just what are you supposed to do that chrome covered thing near the neck of a Tele anyway?
