My Viper Blue San Demon

Post by DivebombInc » Wed May 14, 2008 8:28 am

I liked the Viper Blue so much I wanted to use it again. This is a Northern Ash Body and pretty damn fine Birdseye Neck if I may say so myself; the markers are Abalone. Old non-fine tuner Floyd, Vintage Schallers, a '59, and Volume only. This is a test fit. The finished product will have a serious shine. Can't wait to plug this one in!

I made a pickup ring from the same piece of Birdseye as my neck.

dude, that is bada$$! i have been holding back buying one of those necks fom you. i thought it might be cool to send you the boogie bodies to make a duplicate, but i think you have it down pretty damn close. ups would end up running over it with a forklift or dropping it out of an airplane anyway. you are doing some awesome work there. did you get a chance to make that brass block?

All set up and ready to rock! I used my WarEd pickup in it, and now all it needs is the pickup ring.

Very impressive.

This San Demon is for sale now. I'm accepting offers so PM them to me if you're interested. I am going to put an F-spaced WarEd Humbucker in it.

Really nice job, Divebomb, and a beautiful paintjob!!
Question: Is the locking nut more or less for nostalgia purposes? I cant see how it would get tightened without affecting the guitars tuning, and not having fine tuners on the Floyd... I guess Im kinda out of the Floyd loop, being a hardtail kinda guy of late, but I cant see how you'd be able to get the tuning right on if you used the locking nut. When I had Floyd equipped guitars, that nut always pulled it slightly out of tune, until the fine tuners were tweaked.
:? :?
