Picked this up yesterday... '61 SG Reissue w/57 Classics.... The guy I it bought from obviously babied this thing... not a scratch on it and professionally setup... plays like butter and sounds even better... sounds INCREDIBLE through the 45/100!!!

Hey, I think I found another Desktop for rest the week.
Wait-a-minute... wa? no Fender amps?

I'm on the lookout '61 SG Les Paul myself.
Here's the question. I have noticed two cuts of mahogany for the SG's.
The cut you have and the more popular that has les grain.
I played them both and favored the grainier cut in tone but the other in weight.
I really don't care too much how the wood looks as opposed to the natural sound it has without being plugged in. ...decisions,decisions.

Thanks JimiJames! The acoustic sound of this guitar is louder than any guitar I have... AND I'm not really minding the '57 Classics at the moment... I have a tendancy to not like ANY stock PUP's, but for now I don't see any need to make any changes... pretty rare for me... I may throw an RS Kit in it later on (have done that to all my guitars so far).... I always thought the Paul was IT as far as Gibsons went and never really gave the SG the credit it is due!! I am really digging the sound of this guitar!!

Great looking guitar fun to play and sound great. You should get a little something for it. A truss rod cover like this one I am sure them must make replicas somewhere.
