Silvertone 1448...what should I offer/is reasonable...

I've wanted a guitar for a while that would be suited to slide, and thought that this might be it. A local shop has an original in players shape, with the case, but I think he might be overcharging. The guitar sounded really cool and intonated alright, so I got it in my head that I could use it. I should mention that the man has a habit of price loading. Cool guy, but he's gotta pay rent on a building, with not a lot of business going through.
For a guitar like this, what is a reasonable offer?

That ebay auction one is very cool. I bought a seven string DanElectro brand new to use as a slide guitar and never got around to it. I hung onto it for a couple years and finally put it up for sale at the my local store.

Right now, that ebay one is sitting at $263. That is much less than what the guy at the store is asking. The guitar that I am looking at is also more worn on the shoulders of the neck, and has more overall age appearing wear.
I'll wait to see what that auction finishes at. If I recall, the local guy here has it listed at $499, which sounds like a lot compared to that ebay auction.
