Hey Kyle man need your help please or anyone that knows
I have a mighty mite neck and I purchased a ash start MIM fender body, When I put her together she fit but she frets out??I raised the bridge to the point of no return still fretted out whats do I need to do??? Now on my other strat cheap ass old squier body the neck fit perfect, so I figured try a more expensive body ash and all and nope didn't work. its like the heel pocked is not deep enough, I could what either route that out or sand the back of the heel on the neck to take like 1/8 inch off would that work or no no??

Thanks
mark

Very common for this to happen. Yeah, you wanna shave the bottom heel of the neck a bit. If you go TOO far, dont worry, you can use a shim. I personally would take it to a trusted luthier and show him the body and neck and get some advice about the specifics, like should you shave it at a slight angle. It shoulnt be hard, just prepare, prepare, prepare(think eveything through first), and take your time.

Depends on the angle the neck meets the body. Whether you like an angle or not. I prefer to make the neck pocket deeper and angled. You can always put a shim at the top of the neck pocket to see if you like that. That way you can see if you even like that sound of that body and if it is worth the bother.
