Restringing a nylon?

hey guys, i was wondering if it would be ok to restring my nylon string acoustic with steel strings?

I would be using 9-42 guage, the reason i ask is, although theres no truss rod, i cant see 9s givin THAT much more tension than what its holding now.

Also, with guitars like Martin 0-18's which are steel strung, with no truss rod, i was wondering if it would be possible.

Thought id check with you guys first

Thanks
Tom

Not such a good idea, especially when the tension will be much more plus the steel string will cut into the bridge. I wouldn't do it.

Without adequate top bracing and support even with silk and steel strings, you'll be popping the top and bridge off your guitar...

Tom Keifer of Cinderella, yes he has the bases covered with that setup. Tom has always had cool guitars and amps.
Nylon stung guitars never have had truss rods.

My Classical guitar hasa truss rod. La Patrie from Qubec Canada, l know its weird but it has.

This is my pride and joy my top guitar. David Argent what a gentle giant, even came to my home from interstate to show me his guitar, and l ended up buying the Spruce model. :D :D :D :D
