I don't know for sure, but it looks pretty legit to me. Keep in mind DC resistance can vary quite a bit on different meters and different ambient temperatures.

Hey guy's, I've got a pu that I pulled out of a '90 Ibanez Rg style guitar (Vai shaped). It has the flat pole pieces ruling out Dimarzio, but I havent been able to 100 % find the maker. I heard that S. Duncan made some pu's for alot of the Ibanez guitars from this period. It does look like a Duncan, and on my meter reads 8.2k. '59 maybe ?

I have a Duncan 59 from 1983 and it reads 7.59k they vary. the cool thing about those pickups is that Duncan has the original winding machine from Gibson that wound those Gibson PAF's back in the day.

Here's a couple of pics (been having problems loading pics, hope this works). I think the wire colors are wrong, but this would have been a big order for Duncan to fill, and Ibanez probably didnt want the supplier known. The pole pieces were painted black originally. I sanded it off for a more authentic look.

it's hard to see any detail. How old does he say that duncan is? I am looking at mine now and there is only one hole in the bottom of the baseplate for the lead wire, not 2. the bobbins should have 4 holes that are between the E/A and E/B pole pieces and 2 square holes on the low E side like Gibson did. I am not sure if Duncan was doing 4 conductor lead wires then. I have only seen the braided 2 conductor type. Also don't think that is a DiMarzio, they use a different baseplate and usually the bobbins are flat colored not shiny.
