Awesome! I had my eye on a custom very similar, 70's, all mahogany, wine red, but couldn't sell some gear in time to scape the money together and some other bugger got it.

VERY nice. The perfect relic, cause it got done NOT by Tom Murphy, but by... (goffa bid) PLAYING the guitar!!

Awesome! I'm interested to hear how your sunburst compares.
Looks like your PU has it's 30th birthday coming up. You'll have to do something special.

Congrats, mikey. You can never have too many Pauls!!!
Looks like original frets? I got my '71 in '75 and it had the original "Fretless Wonder" little tiny ass jazz frets in it. Had jumbo's put in as soon as I scraped together the $80 to get it done... (try finding a good luthier to do that fret job for $80 today, eh?)
fill, you may know the guy. Woody was his name. He worked on 48th for a while above Rudy's I think. He re-glued a headstock on a friends LP Custom that was a flawless repair (after I accidently knocked the axe off it's stand and it landed on the solid wood floor face down...

Nah, I cant say I remember him. I've never really had much work done by anyone in the city, except Matt at 30th St. Guitars. He has THE messiest shop on earth, but he does great work.NY Chief wrote:fill, you may know the guy. Woody was his name. He worked on 48th for a while above Rudy's I think. I sold him a Strat, a Tele and one of my Nats (which needed a neck reset) two weeks ago, and he did the neck reset on it. I stopped there Saturday and saw it with the reset. Came out friggin' FLAWLESS, so now I kinda want it back...
