I want to put the original neck back on my 79 strat.I had this neck refretted a few years ago.Basically I shelled out $$ to have my neck destroyed. The new frets are sticking up so high you could fit a baseball card between the fingerboard and some of the frets bottoms and the ends were so sharp I cut my fingers open at a rehearsal on it when I got it back.I have pictures of my strat covered in blood to prove it. ..........I actually had to take a flat metal file to them myself.Surprisingly notes don't fret out on this thing but action has to be slide guitarist high.
The original neck has a heel repair allready so I don't know about sinkin $300+ into this neck.Is it possible I could perform a refret my self?? Perhaps enlarge the slots and epoxy the new wire in??Then block sand them level?

If you have never done a refret I wouldnt attempt it, I have been at it many years and it takes time and practice and study, and tools, correct tools, check out Stewmac.com for tips and tools on this. sorry to hear you shelled out that much money for a poor job.
