is there any advantage to put an original PAF longer magnet in a T-top to get a tone closer to late 50's PAF ?

i know the tone comes from several things like winding , even or not, wire size type of alnico .... so i wonder if putting an original longer PAF magnet (alnico 3 or 5) would really be interesting or just loss of timze (as if to get a closer PAF tone ) ?

how strong the magnet is would make more of a difference IMHO. the length may possibly affect the two e strings, but I'm not sure its audible. gibson probably thought that there was no problem using a shorter magnet

T-tops are collectible I don't think it is worth messing with.

Not only that, but T-Tops use a different wire so you wouldn't be able to achieve the same sound as a PAF anyway.

Play it for what it is or buy one of the really nice PAF clones that are out there. ;)
