StewMac Pickguard doesn't fit? WTF?

Post by blfrd » Sat Feb 07, 2009 3:44 pm

The guitar body is a USA Custom routed for two humbuckers.

The pickguard is a StewMac strat pickguard routed for two humbuckers.

The pickguard isn't going to work.

Makes me wonder why so much variation between pickup distances.

WTF? Now I have to get a different pickguard:

Actually blfrd, the topic of the spacing from the bridge to the pickguard came up on USA Charvel forum recently. The distance the pickup relief hole is from the actual pickup, is what Strat head Charvels and Jackson have as a space from the bridge to where the pickguard actually begins!
Bummer though!

Personally I'd be taking a dremel to that body! I looooove the sound of a humbucker real close to the bridge in strats.
So I like purple, okay!!!!!!

83.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot!
