Page's guitars both 59

"There is no serial number on the guitar, most likely lost after the refinishing of the neck after it was shaved. There are tell-tale signs on the guitar making it more than likely a mid to late '59 Les Paul and though unlikely there is the chance of it being an early '60. Firstly, the white PAF. In November '69 he uncovered the bridge pickup revealing a white PAF. White PAFs were only used on '59 and '60 Les Pauls. NO white PAFs were installed in '58s. Secondly when he first got the guitar it appeared to have a 'Series 2' jackplate. Series 2 plates were used on mid '59 and '60 Les Pauls. The jackplate used prior had sharper, squared corners. The Series 2 had it's corners rounded off some. Some debate the jackplate seen on Page's early on was too thick to be a 50's jackplate and likely a late 60's replacement, in some pics it looks too thick and others it looks just about right. Now could these have simply been '59/'60 parts slapped on a '58? Sure. Likely? Probably not, though there is no proof. When he first got the guitar it appears to be fairly mint, not much abuse minus the shaved neck of course. It took Page a good two and half years to start having jackplate issues and though the white PAF would eventually fail, that took nearly 3 years. Surely Page gave it much more abuse than Walsh or other previous owners, but for all we know though it was refinished prior to Page getting it! Gibson has also stated it's a '59 due to measurements they took when replicating the guitar."
