Just something I started a few weeks ago. I'll be a while with this one. If any of you try this one, do not use Northern ash. Its like working granite with a nail file.

No, I bought a square body blank from Warmouth with the pickup, floyd etc already routed. Just downloaded the original photo and enlarged until I got the correct size by overlaying a pickup. Traced onto tracing paper right off the screen. Used a hobby knife to cut all the lines and then traced onto the body.
Warmouth blanks are ok but they take out WAY TOO MUCH wood in the back control cavity. I'll have to replace some of the wood there because the spaces between the ribs would go right through into the cavity. $120.
Neck came off ebay. I think it was a Musikraft because it is definately a custom job. 1 11/16 with a 16" radius.$200
George Lynch Screaming Deamon. ebay $45.00
Original Black Floyd. ebay $120.00

There is only one guy I know of making these all in one piece like this and he wants $2700.00. This will be under $500. Just have to get a coffin case. :mrgreen:

We shall see, I guess. I got a Screaming Demon, but haven't exactly heard anything that much about the thing. I know the original was made from a Alder Strat body with Cherry wood bones. Really only made for a video I guess. Started to come apart and ESP made him a few copies that never really looked the same.

Looks pretty good. I have built a few of those myself. FYI that particular guitar is called "MOM" or "Bones". The guitar called "Mr. Scary" was actually a Kramer Baretta.

Mr. Scary before George hacked it up.

Here's some good info on this guitar.

http://www.edroman.com/guitars/jfrog.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I actually have one of Ed Roman's fabulous fakes and it plays and sounds great. It has a great top end chime.

You should post some more pix of your progess on the build.
