Has anyone tried it? I have Standard Sozo's in my R7, they sound great. Maybe I'll try it some day or even some Vintage Sozo's.

No but I have mallories in my les paul work great .

I've never tried the Sozo's in guitars, but mustards work quite nicely, especially in my all mahogany thin Paul type.
I recall George saying that he quite liked mustards in guitars (far from being his favourite though, you'd have to search for his post, I've long lost it), but didn't think Sozo's worked that well.
Save the Sozo's for the amps!

sozos are supposed to sound good if they haven't been used in an amp

I have a mustard in my main strat(cp60's). I soldered in two aligator clips and did a test of different types and values.
I liked the mustard 0.033uf (160V) the best in there, those 125V and 160V types are still pretty cheap, unlike those 400V types used in amps...

I've found Sozos to sound kind of muffled in a guitar, but that's just my experience. Was playing around with caps in my Tele the other day to re-confirm what I've previously found. Larry, OTOH, has found Sozos sound great. It's all preference! Chris Klein of Klein pickups has tried tons of caps and feels a NOS mustard is the best sounding cap in a guitar. Personally, in my Tele, PIO sounds best. But I like the fake bees in my LP fine, PIO in Gibsons tend to sound thin to me. Again, just my preferences!

Oh, that's long ago and I haven't compared it to all and everything, just to the stock ceramics of my '01 R8, to ERO1813 and still to two other brands I don't recall anymore. But meanwhile I wouldn't recommend SoZos anymore for guitars, at least not for Les Paul guitars.

My personal favs are:
Mallory 150 (cheap & good)
Jensen PIO's (not so cheap, but better, also brighter and more detailled)
NOS Bumble Bee's (best of all, brings this kind of 'dry dog's bark' into the lower mids and thickens highs)

But if you're after NOS BB's, check that they weren't applied to high voltages yet and use 400V types! No 250V, no 600V types!

I've good so many duzins of jensen PiO 22n that I'll be selling some a little below market price (whatever that is I don't know exactly)

I just put an old 22nf mustard in my Tokai explorer today, I really like it. Phil
