N(O)NGD... New (OLD) National guitar day
Picked up this nice little silver bullet from a store in Lansing Michigan. Its a REAL early (1927) National Style 2 Tricone. The serial number is lower than the lowest recorded number in Bob Brozmans book on Nationals!!
Sounds amazing... like its got built in reverb. The action is a little high, but I really never play anything but slide on a Nat anyway. Im "considering" having the neck reset... but undecided at this point.

Wow Ralph, that is an absolute BEAUT!
To say I'm jealous would be just a little off the mark. Except for it being a right hooker...
I dread to ponder the value of that.

NICCCCCCCEEEEEEE, filly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you hand carry out to National let me know. I'll meet you up there! Been needing an excuse to tale a ride up that way.
Jimi, can't see your pics but is one of Sardinas with (The MAN) Les Paul by any chance?
Saw Les in Anaheim a while back. Sardinas opened. He's a great player, seen him locally a few times. Gets a little over the top for me after a while. He came up to jam with Les with that big ass hat and feathers and snake head (whatever the F is up there) and all that hair poking out from underneath. Les just looks at him for a while and after a longggggg pregnant pause says "What the fuck are you?" We ALL coulda dies 'cuz most of us were thinking the same thing!!!

My pos beater slide that I had to drill 'n tap the tail-piece down to the cone so it wouldn't rattle guitar ?NY Chief wrote:...Jimi, can't see your pics but is one of Sardinas with (The MAN) Les Paul by any chance?...

yea, A little too much sugar in the coffee, but that works a hellava lot better when you're the opening act for Steve Vai.
I agree though it is Great to catch his show once as a headliner. Definitely something to see. (like Chris Duarté. Smokin' player !)

That may actually happen, Chiefy. Im coming out to see family up near San Fran from mid May thru mid June... I was considering sending the guitar to Marc Schoenberger in the next week or so for a neck reset, and driving down to his place in San Luis Obispo to pick it up sometime during the trip, and Ill fly back with it.
Im still undecided at this point as to whether I want to have it reset or not though.
IF I do that Ill let you know. Its gonna be an overnighter trip from SF to SLO. Its like 250 miles each way, so Im gonna grab a hotel room for whichever night I do that. If we can work out meeting up, it'd be tre' cool, bro!!
Its still nice, tho, Jimi... sometimes ya gotta go to some pretty extraordinary lengths to stop those bastards from rattling!!JimiJames wrote:My pos beater slide that I had to drill 'n tap the tail-piece down to the cone so it wouldn't rattle guitar ?
