Ok, so I know that Matthias Jabs used a L90 in his '63 Black Strat with floyd Rose, as well as Accept, Zeno Roth (alot of German dudes huh ) also used an L90. Nuno & Dimebag used the L500,I think.I have searched the internet for specifications but these pu's arent really explained very well everywhere I check. I do seem to 'hear' that all of these Bill Lawrence pu's seem to have a very tight and percussive sound.

I'm specifically interested in knowing the specs and differences between the L90,L90xL, L500 and L500xL. Anyone got experience with theses ?

I have a l90xl (8h). It is LOUD. But it is not dark or muddy. Very open and articulate and detailed. Almost the perfect pickup.

He has a forum, Bill Lawrence Wilde Gate, that has info and sound clips. this may help.

Besides his own killer pickups and having his hands in Fender's Samarium Cobalt's;
Bill used to make a Stainless Steel string that sounded great and was different or had a different feel than other brands.
They were quite sticky and perfect for the Left hand technique stuff with lotsa snap...
Mark & I used his strings on our guitars while we were at school. Was great that his shop was close and our strings conveniently in stock.
