I had this idea a while back about using a lighter wood and a denser insert in the middle.

Never been done right?

Watch this vid...man its cool. Even has chambers. Mahogany middle insert....how cool is that? Check out the buffer robot. :shock:

As I was watching the video I said, "wow cool buffer robot". Then went back and actually read your post.. :palm:

I also liked the iron on veneer top and that machine that cuts the frets. :drool:

Yeah, they heat the veneer with a iron to make it pliable and then vac the entire body. I'm wondering if that's also to remove air from the chambers?

That machine radius's the fret slots to match the neck radius. No straight fret slots.
