Any of you guys had the chance to buy and build your own Super Strat from warmoth parts? Like to know what tone woods and neck combo you chosen and advice you might give me. Pictures of your axe would be a bonus

I've definitely put together some partscasters, but not all Strats and not all Warmoth parts. I've used some AllParts and Mighty Mite necks, too.

I'm at work right now (yeah, I know, it's Sunday...) but I'll try to post pics and specs when I get home.

My Azusa strat is a KnE ash body and a warmoth vintage-modern maple neck (SS frets, EVH back, 1 11/16 nut, compound radius), both unfinished (used just a couple of thin coats of clear nitro later on...).

I prefer Warmoth to all of the other parts companies. They have more buying power and have a better supply of wood than any other comparable company. They are VERY consistant with what they offer.....there are virtually no fuck ups with their stuff. Plus, They have a 'Showcase' of their stock, be it necks or bodies, that are photographed and weighed (bodies). This great, because you can see the grain/ring orientation, as well as the actual weight. You get those two things right ( weight and grain orientation) and you will be satisfied, regardless of the actual wood species.No more of blindly ordering a body and wondering why you dont like it. . If you know what to look for then you OBVIOUSLY know what you want to hear.

not finished yet, but this could inspire you. the worlds first and last swamp ash tele with gibson jr lightening bar stop tail All steel tail parts. scalloped board. recessed control plate.1.5 degree neck pitch. half the screws taken out of the humbucker. I am doing the scalloping and built the body out of a sweet board.

I built a Blackmore replica with Warmoth neck and body

The body is swamp ash and the neck is a CBS type rosewood/maple with standard thin profile.
Be careful with the neck profile, to me, the standard is TOO thin... I don't play too much this guitar due to that. I don't feel comfortable with that slim neck.

I've done to partcasters. The one that turned out best had a Warmoth qsawn 1pc maple boatneck with 57110Ss and a handpicked, punchy-sounding usacg tele ash body (medium weight).

My next project will use a similar neck but an alder body

I am looking at getting a warmoth neck. The thin c shaped. I was wondering how thin it was. I need it thin. Is it much smaller then a standard c shaped?

its 2cm or 0.8". Too thin for me. I like the boatneck myself. but the 59 is probably also good
