Hey what are thoses....
Duncan SPH90-1B Phat Cat's or somethin'?
What's your take on them ?
I have a Gibby P94 bridge in one of my HM Strats. Killer !

They are indeed Duncan Phat Cats. I had a Gibson P-94 but it was like 7 years ago and installed on an import hamer. So I can't really compare them very well. I know most guys say the phatcats don't really sound like p-90's. I think they sound great. I would describe them as "hairy" almost like the signal is a little distorted right out of the gate.
I like 'em but when I play them I miss that humbucker feedback an volume. I am thinking about buying a set of wcr darkbursts to try in one of my Hamers not sure which one yet though.

Also I bought this to be my slide guitar and the Phatcats don't really do slide for me very well.

Had a feelin' they were Duncans. P90's are natural screamers.
My buddy's Jr. is insane through both Marshall & Fender amps.
I have an Ibanez GR520 Ghostrider dual P90's It too is a screamer.
But these are a different beast being a humbucker shape and having cover. I think it's hit or miss with P90's in a particular model guitar shape ...spieces...
I would definitely go with WCR's pickups. Listen to the soundclips that caters to your taste. Big fan of Zebra's (hint)
I just placed an order for magnets to expirement in color... $5 a piec... you can't go wrong...

How do you think they play/sound stock compared to a stock Gibson Les Paul Double Cut?

Thats like comparing apples to oranges. The Gibby isn't in the same class. Save yourself some scratch and go buy a used Hamer you'll be hooked. But don't take my word on it go try one out. Really though Hamers are fantastic instruments.

Didn't know they were that different, although they Hamers seem to have most finish options. I'll have to try one out, thanks for the info.

USA hamers are consistently awesome.Their quality,fit,woods,and finish are way better than your average gibson.The shop I work in deals gibsons(lots of them)and they regularly come with dried out fingerboards.I don't know if gibson is artificially drying the wood in some way to speed up production or what.But that's ridiculous for any guitar that's $1000+.

I 1000% agree to that
I have a Hamer Sunburst Archtop Custom w/ gold parts from '89, I've buyed it new and have played it a lot to 'form' the wood - and it really needs a very exceptional '59 LP Historic Collection, to nail it soundwise
