Just want to know people thoughts on the Suhr guitars especially the classic.
I was thinking to get one of these instead of a Fender Custom shop.
I was think to get one piece Alder or Southern Swamp ash with a translucent sonic blue finish with a C type neck and rosewood fingerboard.
Whats the quality and finish and playablity compared to other Manufacturers.
Since l am in Australia l cannot play one or see one unless l fly to Sydney but honest replys would be great.

I just did a site for
http://www.reisterstownmusic.com and I know Mark thinks the Suhrs are great. John Suhr really seems to have the Fender thing nailed. You'll have to wait for it, but it seems to be worth it.

I think a Warmoth guitar is just as good. Just my opinion.

I prefer USA Customs over Warmoth.

Tom Anderson and Wayne Guitars are also very nice. The Tom Anderson's I seen and played were all great but you have to wait, wait, wait......to get one.

The Fender custom shop guitar will end up being less expensive and they can make them like they used to.

I recently worked on two Suhrs for the same customer. Both were very nice. Super fretwork (I've only seen nicer fretwork on McNaughts and Schecter Custom Shop), beautiful finish , nice feeling necks, with great tone. The action could have been lower from the factory, but there were no issues with getting it down low. Intonation was also dead on. They are expensive, but are also well built. They seem on par with other stuff in their price range although they are certainly on the higher end of that range. All and all, it was pretty much what I would expect on a high end bolt on.
